The Hot Springs National Park is the first stop during your Arkansas getaway. Established in 1832, the 147-degree waters dub the city of Hot Springs “Spa Town.” Visitors may get to know the park through tours like the “Fordyce Bathhouse” tour, “Bathhouse Row Insider’s Tour” and “Discovering the Waters” tour. Want to take some spring water home? Sure. Bring a bottle or jug to the park.
Take advantage of the famed nearby waters and enjoy a spa day at the Quapaw Baths and Spa, or just soak in a traditional bath at Buckstaff Baths, a staple of the park since 1912. Find parking for your day in the park at the south end of Bathhouse Row, or in public lots across the street from the Fordyce Bathhouse, the park’s Visitor Center. Come to relax and cross an American treasure off your list at the Hot Springs National Park.
Although not submerged in water, hiking is a great way to relax in Hot Springs. Trekking through the Ouachita Mountains is an unforgettable adventure taking you through the beauty of Arkansas countryside. Stomp through Hot Springs Mountain Trails like the one-mile Goat Rock Trail or explore the three-mile Sunset Trail in the Sugarloaf Mountain Section. Work up a hunger in your hiking boots and head to Hot Springs for the catfish at Grampa's Catfish House or the XXL Xtreme Burger at Higdon Square Café. Have a nightcap at The Big Chill or breakfast at The Pancake Shop in the Historic Downtown District. See for yourself how Hot Springs is a hot bed for delicious, home-style cooking.
Take the family to the Magic Springs & Crystal Falls water and amusement park open from April to October. Test your bravery on the Arkansas Twister and the Gauntlet rollercoasters, or relax at the Crystal Falls Wave Pool. Found less than three miles from the park, you can dry off at the Best Western hotel in Hot Springs.
