Visiting the Ozarks & Northern Arkansas

What you’ll find as you explore northern Arkansas and the Ozarks this fall is a wide range of exciting and must-see events, festivals, concerts, and more. Top attractions in cities like Bentonville, Clinton, and Fort Smith will yield fun-filled days for all members of the family. Draw up plans to visit Arkansas this autumn and make the most of your time in the Ozarks.

Be sure your stay in northern Arkansas features some time spent touring the very impressive Pea Ridge National Military Park. An easy drive in from nearby Fayetteville and Eureka Springs, Pea Ridge NMP features a wealth of historical insights yielding edifying experiences for all.

One of Pea Ridge’s premier revolving events is the Union Artillery Firing Demonstrations – see the firepower for yourself twice a day, 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., on August 27th, September 10th and 24th, and October 8th.

College football fans will be in for a real treat this fall in northern Arkansas. Head for Fayetteville, also known lovingly as Razorbacks Country, and plan on catching two of the biggest games of the year. On November 5th, the Arkansas Razorbacks will take on the Florida Gators at D.W.R. Razorback Stadium. Then, the following weekend, the LSU Tigers will be in town for another fierce SEC match-up.

Few visitors to Jonesboro this fall will miss out on the annual Arkansas Science Festival. From October 7th through 14th, the ASF will be held at the Jonesboro Fowler Center on the campus of Arkansas State University. You’ll see demonstrations, chat with school scientists, and “MatheMagic” starring Bradley Fields will be great entertainment for the kids.

Enjoy your stay in the city of Conway this fall. Plan your visit to this charming city for October 28th and check out the inaugural Arkansas Pumpkin Festival. Presented by the Arkansas Portable Pumpkin Patch, this event will be held at the farm located at 50 Daugherty Hill Road, south of downtown, starting at 1 p.m. There’ll be snow cones, face painting, and more kid’s activities and games.
