Visiting Little Rock Metro Area

Little Rock – Arkansas Capital City, largest city in Arkansas and a lot of fun. Arkansas, once called the Land of Opportunity, may owe the nickname to Little Rock. Center of business for the state, Dillards, Axciom, and Windstream communications make their corporate headquarters in Little Rock. A dynamic hub for education, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Arkansas Baptist College, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Philander Smith College are based in Little Rock. With higher education follows athletics and the UALR Tojans fill the Jack Stephens Center with action, and Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium hosts Razorback football and tailgating events.

Little Rock and North Little Rock across the Arkansas River offer visitors a diversity of attractions. The William J Clinton Presidential Center and Park includes the Bill Clinton presidential library along with the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service and offices of the Clinton Foundation. The Arkansas Arts Center is not only a vibrant art museum; it also hosts visual and performing arts. History buffs enjoy the Historic Arkansas Museum, the Old State House Museum and MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military history.

Check the calendar at North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena when you’re in town. Don’t miss the Razorbacks games in September against New Mexico and the Mississippi State game November 19th. No issues if you don’t have game tickets, come join 80,000 friends and fans at War Memorial Golf Course for food, fun and tailgating festivities throughout game day.

For great family fun, plan a trip to the 2011 Arkansas State Fair for the Ridin’, Rockin’ and Livestockin’. Enjoy midway games and rides, the best of Arkansas livestock and agriculture and top name entertainment at Arkansas largest fair.

Church going? Let Little Rock’s Museum of Black Arkansans put it to the test. EMOBA hosts the Haunted Cathedral the last two weeks of October.
