Visiting Little Rock Metro Area
Little Rock – Arkansas Capital City, largest city in Arkansas and a lot of fun. Arkansas, once called the Land of Opportunity, may owe the nickname to Little Rock. Center of business for the state, Dillards, Axciom, and Windstream communications make their corporate headquarters in Little Rock. A dynamic hub for education, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Arkansas Baptist College, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Philander Smith College are based in Little Rock. With higher education follows athletics and the UALR Tojans fill the Jack Stephens Center with action, and Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium hosts Razorback football and tailgating events.
Little Rock and North Little Rock across the Arkansas River offer visitors a diversity of attractions. The William J Clinton Presidential Center and Park includes the Bill Clinton presidential library along with the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service and offices of the Clinton Foundation. The Arkansas Arts Center is not only a vibrant art museum; it also hosts visual and performing arts. History buffs enjoy the Historic Arkansas Museum, the Old State House Museum and MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military history.
Check the calendar at North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena when you’re in town. Fall events include Disney Live in September; Taylor Swift performs in October along with the special Halloween extravaganza Pretty Lights. Verizon Arena is conveniently located off Interstate 30 across the Arkansas River from Little Rock’s River Market.
War Memorial Stadium in downtown Little Rock hosts a full fall schedule of high school and college football. Don’t miss the Razorbacks games in September against New Mexico and the Mississippi State game November 19th. No issues if you don’t have game tickets, come join 80,000 friends and fans at War Memorial Golf Course for food, fun and tailgating festivities throughout game day.
For great family fun, plan a trip to the 2011 Arkansas State Fair for the Ridin’, Rockin’ and Livestockin’. October 14th through the 23rd, load up family and friends and head to the Arkansas State Fair Complex off West Roosevelt Road. Enjoy midway games and rides, the best of Arkansas livestock and agriculture and top name entertainment at Arkansas largest fair.
Church going? Let Little Rock’s Museum of Black Arkansans put it to the test. EMOBA hosts the Haunted Cathedral the last two weeks of October. If you like Halloween, don’t miss Arkansas’ largest and arguably scariest haunted attraction. The Haunted Cathedral is at the EMOBA Campus on Louisiana Street.

Rock-n-Stroll 5K Fun Run & Walk
Part of the biggest music festival in Arkansas, the event is one of the weekend's many draws to the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock. Participants in the 5K receive a three-day pass to enjoy the music.
Riverfest 2013
Arkansas' biggest music festival brings rock stars Daughtry and Bush, among many others, to the Clinton Presidential Center. The music kicks in at 7 P.M. Friday night.

Arkansas' largest amateur fishing tournament is held on the waters of the Arkansas River. Hourly prizes are awarded to competing anglers.

2013 Big Dam Bridge Twilight 5K Runners race on the longest pedestrian/bicycle bridge in North America. The running begins at 7:30 P.M at Murray Park in Little Rock.
2013 Busch-Pepsi Softball Classic
Men's and women's teams from across the nation face of in the 34th year of the competition, which is an official USSSA event. Opening pitch times vary per game.
2013 Pops on the River
Arkansas' largest Fourth of July celebration features the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra at Riverfront Amphitheater in Little Rock. This event is free.
