Crowley's Ridge State Park

Set at the home of Benjamin Crowley, Crowley's Ridge State Park covers 291 acres in northeastern Arkansas. Established in 1937, this Arkansas state park is located along Crowley's Ridge Parkway – a National Scenic Byway.

Crowley's Ridge State Park features a 31-acre fishing lake and three-acre swimming lake, plus picnic areas, boating, and kayaking. Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, several structures are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Davidsonville Historic State Park

Once Old Davidsonville State Park, the 163-acre Davidsonville Historic State Park is located in northern Arkansas less than an hour southeast of Hardy. Preserving the remains of the Davidsonville townsite, this Arkansas state park is also found on the National Register of Historic Places.

Established in 1957, the former Old Davidsonville State Historic Monument features outdoor activities like fishing the Black River, Eleven Point River, and Spring River. Other amenities include picnic spots, playgrounds, and a visitor center and gift shop.

Forrest L. Wood Crowley's Ridge Nature Center

The Forrest L. Wood Crowley’s Ridge Nature Center in Jonesboro, offers visitors an opportunity to explore nature, indoors and outdoors. The indoor exhibits, Discovery room, auditorium and observation tower educate visitors on the natural history and topography of Crowley's Ridge. The center encourages exploration through the outdoor wetlands, prairie and forest trails.

Bring along a snack and hike through the woods to Craighead Forest Park to see the wildlife and beautiful surroundings. While in northern Arkansas drive approximately 50 miles northwest to Hardy for comfortable accommodations with Best Western hotels.

Lake Charles State Park

Established in 1967, Lake Charles State Park covers 140 acres in northeastern Arkansas with the Ozarks. Featuring the 645-acre Lake Charles, Lake Charles State Park is set 35 miles southeast of Hardy.

Mammoth Spring State Park

Covering over 60 acres, Mammoth Spring State Park is located in northern Arkansas – just 20 minutes north of Hardy. A U.S. National Natural Landmark, this Arkansas state park was established in 1957.

Mammoth Spring State Park features the Arkansas Welcome Center and an onsite railroad museum housed in a 1886 St. Louis–San Francisco Railway depot. Outdoor activities at Mammoth Spring include fishing and boating on Spring Lake, plus hiking, panicking, baseball, and playgrounds.

Powhatan Historic State Park

Formerly Powhatan Courthouse State Park, the Powhatan Historic State Park is set in northern Arkansas – 30 miles southeast of Hardy. Covering nine acres, this Arkansas state park was established in 1970.

Set on the Black River, Powhatan Historic State Park features the 1888 Powhatan courthouse, plus the Ficklin-Imboden House, Powhatan Jail, Powhatan Schoolhouse, and Telephone Exchange Building. Guided tours are available.
