Central High National Historic Site

A staple of the American Civil Rights Movement, the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site is the former high school of the famed Little Rock Nine. Set in central Little Rock, Central High was the site of the Little Rock Integration Crisis of 1957 – where nine African-American students were admitted to school in an effort to force school desegregation.

Central High was established as a National Historic Site in 1998, and receives more than 40,000 visitors each year. Central High National Historic Site is just six miles east of the Little Rock National Airport, and near many Best Western hotels in the Little Rock metro area.

Clinton Presidential Library and Center

The William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park houses the offices of the Clinton Foundation, the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service and the Clinton Presidential Library. The library showcases the tenure of the Clinton presidency through 2 million photographs and over 100 million pages of documents including e-mail messages.

Faulkner County Museum

The Faulkner County Museum is located in downtown Conway – part of the Little Rock central area. The museum is open Monday through Thursday with guided tours available. Visitors to the Faulkner County Museum may view an 1896 historic jail, a Victorian bedroom and a circa 1900 general store replica.

Included exhibits focus on Native American heritage, Arkansas politics, and early education in Faulkner County. Little Rock National Airport

In 1917, the Little Rock National Airport started operations as the Little Rock Intermediate Air Depot, by the United States Army Signal Corps.
