Jenkins Ferry State Park
Established in 1864, the Jenkins Ferry State Park is located in southern Arkansas as the site of the Battle of Jenkins' Ferry during the Civil War. This Arkansas state park is both a U.S. National Historic Landmark and listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Set 13 miles south of Sheridan, and an hour east of Arkadelphia, Jenkins Ferry State Park features interpretive exhibits, and an onsite pavilion. The nearby Saline River offers swimming and a boat launch ramp. Jenkins Ferry is one of the premier examples of Arkansas state parks.
