Central High National Historic Site
See the Central High National Historic Site
A staple of the American Civil Rights Movement, the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site is the former high school of the famed Little Rock Nine.
Found in Little Rock, Central High was the site of the Little Rock Integration Crisis of 1957 – where nine African-American students were admitted to school in an effort to force school desegregation.
Central High was established as a National Historic Site in 1998, and receives more than 40,000 visitors each year. Central High National Historic Site is just six miles east of the Little Rock National Airport, and near many top attractions in the Little Rock metro area.
